Rice Field Country - Hidden Sound Village

Little is known about this village but we do know that Orochimaru is from this village along with the young genin sound ninjas.

Grass Country - Hidden Grass Village

Little is known about the Land of Grass. It is probably very rich with flora. Kusagakure, Village Hidden Among Grass, is located in the Land of Grass. Ninja from this village may use jutsu involving flora.

Moon Country - Village Hidden under the Moon

The Land of the Moon is an island nation in the shape of a crescent moon, hence the name. It is home to the ninja village Getsugakure, Village Hidden under the Moon.

Rain Country - Hidden Rain Village

The Land of Rain is home to Amegakure or Hidden Rain Village, and is filled with a great number of small buildings in a heavily wooded area, suggesting that it might perhaps be located in a rainforest. Its borders are highly defended, and those wishing to pass through the country must first give their name, purpose, and amount of time they intend on staying in the country before being allowed admission. Even if one is permitted to enter the country, they will be under constant surveillance by the government for the duration of their stay.

Waterfall Country - Village Hidden in a Waterfall

The Land of the Waterfall consists of a large waterfall which hides Takigakure, its a Village Hidden in a Waterfall. Not much is known about this land, except that Team 7 had a mission that brought them here. Obviously, the landmark of the area is its waterfall, which is rather large by modern standards.

Mountain Country - Hidden Heat Haze Village

The Mountain country is one of the few countries in the world which harbored a shinobi village. Hidden Heat Haze was a lower shinobi village. The exact location of the Mountain Country is unknown but it is marked by mountainous terrain. For a period of time it harbored Kagerou no Sato. After a protracted war with Konoha thirty years previously, the village was weakened. Though they made peace with Konoha, ninja from another country swooped in to wipe out the weakened Hidden Village and its ninja.

Wave Country

The Wave country is a small island nation which was once under the harsh rule of the shipping baron Gatô. Located off the coast of the Fire Country, the islands became impoverished because of the strong grip Gatô had over the shipping and transportation in the region. He ruled through fear, and anyone who dared stand in his way he had murdered as a warning. When Gatô was finally killed, Tazuna the bridge builder was able to finish his bridge and connect the country to the mainland. Thus the bridge allowed the country to become prosperous once again.
